To live
Is a mission bestowed
on me
As I was truly meant to be
I would rather walk through the fire
Than live an illusion of paradise
I would rather jump these hurdles
Than walk in a façade of green pastured plateaus
Let me not live the life of others
For life is life
If it is meant for greatness, it has to be tried, tested and
proven
It has to be the prey of every wandering bark
It has to be haunted by tempests and stalked by impediments
It has to be at the edge of doom at some point in time
Let me not live the life of others
For life is life
Though it may have many unknowns
Than perhaps, what I may know not about death,
It is no time’s fool
It trickles by with every passing second
Short!
That is why I would instead, spend my life living
For I may end up pleasing not even I
If I let my ambitions drive me to please all others
I may be tricked with stones for diamonds
If I let my appetite lead me to quantity and not quality
Oh no! Not that life! That one in contest with others
Let me not live the life of others
I desire to chase after my very own
That I may always choose ecstasy over dignity
Because to be truly dignified is to live my life’s joy
In truth!
But if this is erroneous, then let it be taught to me
And if I ever knew this, then life is such a phenomenal
teacher!
