Summer's Dream

A brand new August
And the young chestnut tree slowly
Sheds off its flowers
Its green leaves re-coloring, they fall off one by one

The heat is cooling fast
The breeze is speeding
The rains are descending
Many loud voices are being toned down

You witness the year dreaming
To a degree that you start reminiscing
You hold the past red hot and humid summer days
In your memory
You gear up for the chilly days ahead of you

Maybe you have grown a new love for something:
A craft, a woman, the guy next door, a pet, the oceans, this chestnut tree?
You tell me!

As for me, I have grown to realize a lot!
I have learned to take a breather
To reflect on life's very own beauty and wonders and complications

Most of all,

I have grown to learn to walk
To walk in the shadow of the chestnut tree
I drop all the parts of me that may be redundant for the season ahead

Finally, just as the hot summer days go to rest,
I put to sleep my worries, doubts, fears and failures
I get ready to turn over

To a brand new chapter, to a fresh season of beauty and color!

  1. The red-hot days of summer is indeed memorable.
We put worries, doubts, fears and failures to sleep and brace ourselves for the new season.

    Lovely!
