It was entitled “Joyeux Noël!”
The page I was on had these words: “It’s the most wonderful time of the year.”
Then suddenly, I found myself in it.
I tell you, it was just like a magic wand at work.
The previous months quickly melted into an ocean
Of an utterly new season,
Swimming me through December,
Around the Winter and Harmattan Islands,
And back into the Gulf of January.
A story without one sole moral
But one in which a character like Le Père Noël,
Though found in the middle chapters,
Made chronic conflicts seem acute
And the darkest nights peaceful
And the sunsets glow even more.
In one of the chapters, I was captured by the love
And another by the merry making
And yet another, I completely zoned in and out of the pages
Like the waves the of the ocean.
And finally, I got stolen by the ending
Then I forgot about the old and the new seasons
And the ocean was no longer a metaphor.
The book was not even a book.
Out of the blue, I stepped out from my daydream.
I was awakened by a joyous sound.
It was the sweet harmony of José Feliciano’s Feliz Navidad;
It was the sweet harmony of José Feliciano’s Feliz Navidad;
A song you are sure to find anytime on air,
Only in the time of Xmas.
